The Danish family business BC Garn was founded in 1972 by Bo Carstensen. He has been fascinated by wool from an early age. His mother was a weaver and his father made clothes. His grandmother produced her own wool because she could not find suitable wool and colors for her children.
Now BC Garn has a wide range of yarn. Always natural fibers. Some are even organic, and many are already GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified. In 2018, Britta and Carsten Kremke took over the company from Bo and Marianna. Coincidentally, their first names match the company name exactly, so they were able to keep the BC Garn brand name.
The wool used for the Semilia Melange series is from South America and is spun and colored in Turkey. This wool and the dye are both fully GOTS certified.
